OLGA VYACHESLAVOVNA ORFINSKAYA-SENIOR RESEARCHER

Graduated from the Leningrad Forestry Academy named after M. S. Kirov (specialty-landscape architecture) and the post-graduate program of the Heritage Research Institute. In 2001, she defended her thesis "Textiles of the VIII-IX centuries from the collection of the Karachay-Cherkess Museum: technological features in the context of the culture of Early Medieval Eurasia" for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences. Participated in projects: "Historical Necropolis (Moscow Kremlin Museums); "Bronze Age textiles", "Clothing of the Golden Horde", "X-century textiles from the Gnezdovo burial Ground" (GIM); "Coptic Textiles" (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts); actively cooperates with the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Since 1986, she has participated in various archaeological expeditions. Since 2010, he has been working in the expeditions of the Center for Egyptological Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Fayum and Luxor. At the moment, he is engaged in the study of textiles discovered in the course of archaeological research of the CEI RAS.
Research interests: archaeological textiles and textile technologies.
